The Camp today

In 1974, the area of the
former POW camp was privatised and a commercial estate with the idyllic
name „Immenhain“ (Bees‘ Copse) installed. The photo on the left shows
the former entrance to the camp, today also the estate’s entry. The white
building on the right is the former postal hut, today part of a timber
company. |

| The former Allied POWs‘
kitchen on this photo is a .....nowadays. It’s owner did massively molest
an Italian TV team in 1986, so they had to stop their work. A further
proof, how some of our fellow country-men treat historical facts. |

In the former HQ of the
Guard Company, the Selsingen community’s road maintenance department is
installed. On it’s compound two more original buildings can be found.
The use of the brown hut left below is unknown. But the white beneath
is one of the POWs‘ accomodations. There many prisoners were brutally
...... and probably some even murdered. |

The most buildings belong to a company
dealing with surplus military equipment. All are in a very bad state and
it’s only a question of time until they’ll start collapsing. All these
huts have to be protected asmonuments, so their owner must keep them in
good repair. |
